Who We Are
The Latinx Therapists Action Network (LTAN) is an offering of love for the migrant communities who have suffered over three decades of mandatory detention, the militarization of the Southern border, and the systematic and racist collusion of local law enforcement across the country with Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This love extends to all the frontline organizers, activists, attorneys, and service providers who have spent countless hours centering the well-being of individuals, their families, and their communities—many times at their own expense.
The network is an offering to the organizers, activists, and movement leaders who, many times are undocumented themselves, who go to bed and wake up daily ready to take on the system, to those who have driven children across the border to reunite with their deported loved ones, to all those who have waited at midnight for the Greyhound bus to drop off people released from detention to offer food and shelter, and to the many who have made the case to a judge for someone’s right to remain in the United States or had to be honest about the hopelessness of a case to someone else’s loved one.
This love and commitment is also dedicated to all those who are no longer part of this movement but helped build it over the past two decades. Especially those who never received the emotional and spiritual support needed to continue in this work or tend to the wounds this system creates.
